SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOAL 04: QUALITY EDUCATION
Theme for THIMUN Qatar 2024
As we enter the worst recession we have seen in 90 years, the world is already experiencing increased inequality. What can Youth do to equip themselves as advocates in this new world that they are stepping into? THIMUN Qatar will equip young people with the skills to be able to create and critically analyse policy documents to help them stand up as young leaders of today. Please see the admin booklet below for more information on the conference.
Issues on the agenda
ALL DELEGATES WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE SC, HSC & CCPCJ SHOULD COME PREPARED WITH AT LEAST ONE WRITTEN RESOLUTION IN THEIR ASSIGNED COMMITTEE AND POLICY STATEMENTS ON ALL ISSUES IN THEIR FORUM
This year, for our 13th annual conference, THIMUN Qatar has been proud to connect directly to UN organs and put together an agenda that not only reflects the UN agenda’s workings for 2024, it has also incorporates youth issues for the first time. Each forum contains at least one Youth Issue on the agenda, where delegates act as youth delegates of their assigned country. This Youth Voice is to be shared widely in a consolidated document which will represent Youth Voice.
THIMUN Qatar values the academic integrity of the conference. In addition to requiring policy statements on each of the issues on the agenda for the selected committees, (with the exception of Security Council, Historical Security Council and CCPC), THIMUN Qatar’s Executive team have formulated issue videos to support delegates understanding of some of the issues that are harder to access. Each issue video can be found hyperlinked inside the research report.
