Student Voice and Youth Participation in Decision Making

What is “YOUTH VOICE”? How have youth engaged with decision making around the world?. Building out Article 12 of the UN CRC, Dr. Dana Mitra will look at how young people share “student voice”, and will share a framework for thinking about the ways that young people can engage in decision making processes; through giving opinions, collaborating with adults, and creating their own initiatives for change. We will also explore conditions that help such work to succeed and problems that may hold it back. Participants will have an opportunity to reflect on student voice in their own organisations, and develop an understanding of how to develop student voice in their own communities!
