Secretary General of THIMUN Qatar 2022

Giulia Pinna I am honoured to be serving as the SG of THIMUN Qatar 2022. My aim is for this THIMUN to become the center of discussions for youth not only during conferences, but throughout the year. So often, resolutions feature a clause focused on raising awareness. I want THIMUN Qatar to be the platform to do just this; by speaking out during crises such as the occupation of Palestine, expulsion of asylum seekers in Europe or deforestation of the Amazon, THIMUN Qatar would be a portal to truly raise awareness and understanding of these Global issues.

Muhammad Alif Naufal As I delved deeper into MUN, I began to realise that it isn’t just a simulation of the UnitedNations, but rather a place where youth are given the power to make a difference. Through THIMUN Qatar’s Global Act with Impact Award (GAIA), I have been able to contribute to my local community in my school. The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in difficulties spreading throughout the world, and despite Qatar being a highly developed country, we are still not immune to such difficulties. Countless individuals and families faced hardships caused by the pandemic and so through our school GAIAs project, I was given the opportunity to help out the local communities that were struggling, especially those in the local labour camps. I hope to allow the delegates of THIMUN Qatar to be given the same opportunity as PGA of THIMUN Qatar 2022.

Noora Al Kuwari I am honoured to serve as the Head of Admin and IT. I am 100% committed to make QLC ‘21 & THIMUN ‘22 one of a kind events, and I will work hard to make the conferences a success. I already have the experience of being in the executive team this past year which will also help me as I am experienced and more familiar with the role. I was able to learn a lot from my past experiences which helped me improve my role from MSMUN 21 to THIMUN 21. I noticed a great change and I managed to work with my team to avoid making the same mistakes and make the other conference even better, which it was. I am delighted to represent THIMUN Qatar, My School and myself as the Head of Admin during the QLC21 and THIMUN22 conference.

Alyaa Al Asmakh Do Model United Nations conferences actually play a crucial role in forming interactive, social, and collective communities through raising awareness on global conflicts? Participating in conferences held by THIMUN Qatar has always been something I commit to entirely, by putting my absolute time, effort, engagement and dedication towards. There are multiple roles in which students can apply to; positions such as, delegates, admins, press members, or even execs, where their growth and evolution is easily traced. For this reason, many schools introduce MUN to their students as it’s critical in allowing students to gain insightful and meaningful knowledge, along with skills, that may be further employed in the future to develop the world in the best possible way.
