The role of IMF youth in combating poverty

November 5, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

The International Labour Organization has said that although the world’s nations “will emerge” from the pandemic, “five years of progress towards the eradication of poverty has been undone”. The COVID crisis is likely to push global unemployment over the 200 million mark in 2022. Women and youth have been the most affected. This workshop will help participants gain a more comprehensive understanding of global poverty, the policy responses required for poverty reduction and implementation challenges. It will help participants design better policy solutions required to combat poverty and also gain the necessary soft skills required for the successful implementation of their policy solutions. This workshop will also address the importance of structural transformation required for poverty reduction, financial inclusion, cash transfers, employment guarantee, community-driven development and civic engagement programmes.
