Many parts of our world are facing unprecedented economic crises characterized by systemic and widening income gaps and exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Debt accumulation seems to be the only trend in global economics, and in that state, poor nations are bound to bear the brunt of these ill effects. To achieve SDG 1 “No Poverty”, there must be a fundamental mindset shift in how we approach both the challenges and solutions.
Taking Haiti as a case study, H.E. Mr. Guillaume will share his reflections on how such a mindset shift could contribute to SEEDs (Sustainable and Equitable Economic Development) framework that would in turn have greater impacts on SDG 1 goals.
