THIMUN Qatar has been a critical partner in the movement to bring action and service to Model United Nations. Through its support of groups like Hope for Education and Leadership in Afghanistan (HELA) and Salam Centre for Peace, THIMUN Qatar has proudly supported and highlighted the work of delegates who have made a difference in their community.
THIMUN Qatar will be launching a new award, the Global Initiative and Action Award (GAIA), and will continue to award the THIMUN Qatar Peace and Service Award, both of which are designed to highlight and celebrate the work of students taking action and service into their MUN work.
MUN Impact has a number of resources to help Model UN clubs and conferences, from specific resource pages organized by SDG, to general tools to plan for action and impact in your conference. If you are looking for ideas to quickly implement into your Model UN program, check out the list of ideas to get your started. MUN Impact has also developed an inventory tool to help you undertake an examination of the SDGs at your school or in your community. The MUN Impact blog highlights the work of delegates supporting the Global Goals through innovative initiatives, inspired by their MUN participation.
THIMUN Qatar is also very honored to share the words of the Secretary General’s Humanitarian Envoy, Dr Ahmed Al Meraikhi, who calls on the MUN community to put the humanitarian agenda into the heart of their debates and actions.
